Welcome to Flotilla 15-04!

Welcome to the Flotilla 15-04 website. Flotilla 15-04 is nestled in the small town of Homosassa Springs, Florida, located approximately one hour North of Tampa, Florida off of U.S. Highway 19. Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at our Flotilla Building located at the West Citrus Community Center, 8940 West Veterans Drive, Homosassa, Florida 34448.

Flotilla 07-015-04 missions are many and include lifesaving, port security, protecting property, protecting the environment, vessel safety examinations, air and surface operations, boating safety training, aids to navigation, and marine safety.

In order to perform these missions, we undergo and maintain a rigorous training program to remain proficient in our duties.  We conduct numerous air and surface safety patrols of critical port infrastructures and waterways to protect Americans from the threat of terrorism.  In addition, we are responsible for assisting and saving numerous lives each year.  In conjunction with our own activities, we augment other Coast Guard units including Station Yankeetown and Sector Saint Petersburg.  Every year, we provide thousands of hours of service to Station Yankeetown and conduct hundreds of vessel safety examinations on behalf of Sector Saint Petersburg.  We are a very active Flotilla offering numerous opportunities for training and service to our country and local community.

If you are interested in joining and would like to attend a meeting to meet with other Flotilla members, please contact our Member Services representative and they will provide further instruction. Please keep in mind that membership is dependent on a security clearance to ensure the safety and security of Coast Guard resources..

We conduct vessel patrols of the Homosassa River and the coastline of Citrus CountyWe perform vessel exams on recreational and commercial fishing vessels upon requestWe conduct formalized training in boating safety, weather, and other boating topics

Manatee Zones in Florida

Residing in the Homosassa Spring area means that you are very familiar with the Manatee. Manatees remain endangered as many of them are killed or severly wounded each year from the propellers of passing recreational boaters. To reduce the number of incidents, Manatee Zones were established. To find out where these zones exist and when they are enforced, please visit the website for Florida Wildlife and Fisheries.
